Red Ripple Reproduction! Here is an excellent example of how to tell a reproduction ripple just by looking at the base. Notice how the very edge of the base on this reproduction ripple does not flare out? See how the outer edge of the base drops straight down with no flare. Note that reproduction Shell clam globes have this same distinction at the base. That's also how you can tell a reproduction Shell or ripple just by looking at the base. Remember reproduction ripples have a distinctive raised line that goes from the front to the back at the very top of the globe.
